I was kinda upset that they made Twilicorn canon at first, but after my fifth viewing of 'Magical Mystery Cure' I managed to accept Twilight's fate. I'm gonna miss regular ol' unicorn Twily if she's gonna be an alicorn forever.
Hi! What a cute picture! Want to help me raiser money for animals and for hats and mittens this up coming winter? Plz click here: springgalaxy.deviantart.com/jo… i am also selling art to help my fund raiser out, thx for ur support! spread the word plz!
am I the only one that wasn't upset with her transformation when it was revealed, I mean I've always liked the damsel in distress scenario, and now she's a princess, (LOL, It is going to happen, trust me XD)
I hope this is the library either in Canterlot, or what might be in her castle come Season 5.
I was horrified by Tirek taking down Golden Oaks Library with just a single shot. That was unforgivable...destroying Twilight's first home in Ponyville...no wonder that lit the fuse for her to go ballistic on him.
Some people hate change. Take the Transformers fandom and the whining over... everything about any new series that isn't exactly like G1.
Some people are still complaining nearly a season later. Though the point at which we have it *totally* proven she's gonna be the same is the first episode after the season premiere: namely, the epic book nerdgasm!
I love the way the books and scrolls circle her, and that this circle is continued through her wings and horn. It's very much in the spirit of Twilight, you know? It's accepting of her new qualities and inclusive of what we already love about her.
Me, I'm excited for Season 4. She'll have to come to terms with newfound power and responsibility, on top of continuing her studies. She'll worry if these changes have alienated her friends, or worse, have made them jealous. It's going to be a huge step up in the writing, I think.
Being an alicorn doesn't mean you're immediately locked away in a castle and co-opted into administration. Cadence was enough proof of that. She became an alicorn through the act of becoming the embodiment of her talent ('Twilight Sparkle and the Crystal Heart Spell') and was adopted by Princess Celestia. And what did she do? Foal-sitting, a job she clearly loved.
Alicorn Twilight is almost certainly also going to contimue in the job she loves at least for the immediate future, just like Cadence did. Also, from Magic Duel, we know about aging spells, and that only the most powerful unicorns can cast them. I propose that Celestia and Luna's 'immortality' comes not from some innate alicorn-ness, but simply that they have the power to cast such spells on a regular basis and thus stabilise their age. That means immortality is a matter of personal choice.
My head-canon is that Celestia and Luna became alicorns from being a pegasus and a unicorn themselves, the idea that they 'rose up' against Discord. The only reason that they keep going, and not join their friends in whatever the pony afterlife is, is that they're needed. For some reason, there is no practical way to return control of the sun and moon to a large group of unicorns, as it once was, the spells have been lost or something.
